The Mars rover Curiosity is due to land on Mars August 5, 2012! As readers of The Mighty Mars Rovers have learned, craters offer scientists amazing views of a planet’s geologic past. Curiosity is targeted to land in Gale Crater.  Watch this cool video to find out why scientists picked Gale Crater and what they hope to learn there.
